Mica is a supervising attorney on Parole Project’s legal team. She joined the Parole Project in January 2023 and has advocated for Parole Project clients seeking relief in court based on legal issues in their cases. Before coming to the Parole Project, Mica represented clients on Louisiana’s death row in their post-conviction proceedings.
Originally hailing from New York City, Mica graduated from CUNY (City University of New York) Law School and was barred in Louisiana in 2018. Mica has been a long-time believer in second chances. In addition to interning with various legal aid organizations in New York and New Orleans, she has also interned with The Legal Aid Society’s Prisoners’ Rights Project and volunteered with the Parole Preparation Project in New York and the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights Campaign to End Extreme Sentencing for Youth.
She currently resides in New Orleans and in her free time enjoys cooking, baking, gardening, and hanging out with her cats, Boots and Abraham.
